Life is precious. You have this one chance to be YOU! Living in your skin is important! Meaningful. Valuable. It’s not always easy, but integrating all your parts, making room for all of you, can help you build the person that you want to keep becoming. You are a container for all that you are. And the birthplace of what is yet to come.
I hope this poem helps you remember more of yourself.
Living in Your Skin
Sometimes I’m a river
Sometimes a serpent shedding
Sometimes a full grown woman in her full moon phase
And sometimes; what the fuck happened?
Sometimes I’m a little one
Sometimes jaded
Sometimes In Awe
Sometimes I’m a dark moon and I feel the threat of never returning
Sometimes I’m a forest
A rainbow
A railroad
A roaring, howling beast
A raccoon in the dumpster
Digging
Sometimes I’m a moaning melody
A mountain
A mama nourishing her children
A mythic creature
Sometimes I’m a minion
A monster
A mourning lavender bush almost dried up
I need water
I need love
I need bees
I need breath
Sometimes I need quiet
Darkness
I need delicious food
I need skin to skin
I need to feel it all
Sometimes I feel too much
Sometimes I’m an explosion
Or a lake of despair
A cloud of tears
And the years, they go by
I wanna scream; one day I’ll die
Just to get a good rhyme
But the time, it ticks
And sometimes I just want to hold on for
Just another moment
To the flavor of now
A container for all that I am
And a birth place for what is yet to come
