The full moon in Libra comes with a reminder to live a beautiful life. Not to bypass the storms, the collapse, the grief. Not to gloss over this historical moment of chaos and struggle and adversity. But to create beauty within the broken pieces. To grow a garden that emerges from the ruins. To make art that breathes the heart’s love into expression.
Libra is an archetype that wants harmony and connection. Its tendency is to avoid conflict. It lives on the opposite side of Aries on the spoke of the zodiac wheel. Aries is a feisty, fiery fighter; sparking life, pushing out of the ground, up toward the light, bringing renewal to the world after Winter. The moon is full in Libra when the sun is in Aries. These two archetypes weave a story that reminds us that paradox is necessary for existence.
We need the ferocity of Aries and the peaceful intentions of Libra. We need the spark, the impulse, the power to take a stand for something that matters. And we need a gentle breath and the ability to hear all the sides, and see things from different points of view.
Libra seeks balance in a world that ebbs and flows. They want to make things equal and just. It’s the part of you that dreams of equality. And they need to fire of the Aries part of you, to fight for justice and fairness.
Libra roots us into relationship, and invites us to make connections. It teaches us to partner with the forces within us and around us, and find ways to make life beautiful.
Life is complex and full of flowering trees, fierce fires, powerful mountains, deep valleys, big waves, lush meadows, heavy rains, sunny songs, delicious meals, love affairs, heartbreaks, danger, precious gems, floods, rebirths, earth shuttering moments, triumphs, aches, revival, meteors, melancholy, magic, and infinite opportunities to marvel at the wildness of it all.
With this full moon in Libra, we are called not to balance it all, but to integrate each and every experience, each and every moment, and weave a tapestry of meaning.
I made this video for you if you wish to explore the archetype of this full moon further.
Each new moon and full moon I send deeply contemplative, muse filled messages to my mailing list, exploring the archetype and its relationship to the moment we’re in. Subscribe to my mailing list below if you wish to receive them. Here’s an excerpt from the full moon in Libra one:
“As a liberating force, it arrives on the eve of Passover, when the Jewish tradition celebrates the Israelites escaping slavery in Egypt, and beginning their 40 year journey through the desert back home, to the land of Canaan.
A lot of thoughts are swirling in my mind right now. A lot of connections and a lot of loose ends. This moment’s complexity and the fragments of history. All the pieces that make the picture of now. All the stories that make up this epic body of reality. All the parts and pieces that hide from our eyes.
There is so much to the story of Passover. And when placed in the context of a winding, cyclical history, and woven into this historical moment, it’s not an easy one to unpack and fully put together with clarity of meaning.
One small aspect can remind us that it’s a story of resilience, of remembering who you are, of somehow outsmarting the forces that want to keep you tied, small, and disconnected from your roots.
Libra begins a journey back to the roots. To ancestral connections. To place as source. To the process of building a home and being who you are. Who we are is a complex net of identities and realities and histories and stories. Roots are tangled underground, woven in an intricate relationship with a wide variety of organisms. “
